Hey people, I’m a freelance writer from New York City, and a male ally to queer women of color. The QWOC movement is a platform to bring the concerns we care about to the forefront. I believe it’s time for all queer people of color to step out and be proud.
During my internship I hope to use my writing to enlighten others about issues facing gender non-conforming people of color. I’d also like to highlight queer women and gender non-conforming people of color who are doing great things within our community. There are people making a huge impact who we don’t hear about enough. So, I plan to keep my ear on the ground to make sure we don’t keep missing important news.
I believe it’s time for all queer people of color to step out and be proud.
Warning: I can be very outspoken — this comes along with my natural zest for life. But, I’m friendly and excited about meeting and connecting with new people. I’ll be chatting with you folks soon. So, until then, keep your eyes open, keep your head up, and walk with pride. — Dre
