Marketing Communications Intern

I am a lesbian living in a tiny town near the Finger Lakes region of New York. I graduated a year ago from Smith College, where I majored in English and minored in the Study of Women and Gender. Over the coming summer months, I hope to grow as a person, as an ally, and as a writer.

Living in such a small town, I haven’t had much contact with any part of the queer community, and I feel honored to have this opportunity to contribute to QWOC. I am especially excited to work with QWOC because their work highlights the stories of people whose lives are intersectional and so may find that their voices are missing from mainstream queer communities.

Above all, I enjoy learning, and am eager to learn more about the unique needs and issues impacting queer women of color so that I can be a stronger advocate. I look forward to encountering new ideas, some of which may challenge my most deeply held beliefs. And, I also hope to have some fun along the way. Whatever happens, I am sure this will be an experience to remember.
